Zouratié Koné composed the beautiful sound band of this short experimental film, in which Marthe Djilo Kamga explores what it means to ‘be’ a black woman with kinky hair. Part of Frieda Ekotto’s visual research project Vibrancy of Silence: Archiving the Images and Cultural Production of Sub-Saharan African Women on African women as the unsung heroines of artistic and cultural production.
